Talk on one-room schoolhouses planned

LIMA — The Kiwanis Club of Lima will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20 at the Milano Cafe, 2383 Elida Road.

Candace Newland will speak on “Exploring the History of One Room Schoolhouses in the Area.”

The Kiwanis Club of Lima will meet on Tuesday, November 20, 11:30 am, at the

Milano Cafe’. Guest speaker will be Candace Newland “Exploring the History of Oneroom

Schoolhouses in the Area.” Candace is a former educator and librarian. She

coordinates the Kiwanis volunteers who greet visitors to the one-room schoolhouse

at the Allen County Museum during the Christmas Tree Festival.

The Kiwanis Club of Lima is part of Kiwanis International and Kiwanis Ohio District,

an organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world “one child and one

community at a time.” The local club is proud to sponsor service leadership clubs for

students in Lima City Schools, for adults with disabilities at the Board of DD and college level

students with a Circle K at Ohio State Lima. Members of Kiwanis are involved in numerous

service projects in the community, the state and throughout the world.
