Real Men Wear Pink campaign pulls in $23,641

LIMA — After participating in the Real Men Wear Pink campaign, seven area men were able to collectively raise $23,641 to be donated to the American Cancer Society to be used to save lives from breast cancer.

The campaign asks those participating to wear pink every day in October. The seven area leaders involved this year were Justin F. Courtney, resident life director at Ohio Northern University, Dave Woodward, an on-air personality with Woof Boom Radio, Berlin Carroll, Allen County probate and juvenile courts administrator, Mike Copeland, president of UAW Local 1219, Eddie Saunders, national sales director with Zip Zag Rides, Justin Long, store director at Chief Supermarket, and Kevin Sandler with WCSM Radio. The top fundraiser was Courtney, who was able to pull in $10,049 for the American Cancer Society.

The men kicked off their efforts in August to raise awareness and donations for the campaign and committed to wearing pink throughout the month of October.
