LIMA —Lima Memorial Health System will be hosting a Lung Cancer Symposium Thursday.
Because lung cancer causes more cancer deaths than breast, colon and prostate cancers combined, the hospital wants to educate community members about the disease, according to a news release.
Faculty will discuss information regarding lung cancer pathology, surgical interventions, radiation, chemotherapy and much more.
The symposium will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Auxiliary Conference Center at Lima Memorial Hospital.
“We are privileged to be able to provide innovative lung cancer care to individuals in our community, from early screening with a low-dose CT to advanced diagnostic capabilities and personalized treatment options,” said Lima Memorial Pulmonary Critical Care physician Dr. Jason Stienecker in a news release. “This symposium provides us the opportunity to share many of these advancements with our fellow healthcare professionals.
