KALIDA — An Armistice Day program will begin at 2 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Putnam County Historical Museum, 201 E. Main St. Doors open at 1 p.m.
The event includes music from World War I, a history presentation, uniform and memorabilia displays and poetry.
Admission is free. Veterans will receive a lapel pin in honor of their service.
Armistice Day Program
KALIDA -The Putnam County Historical Society has planned a special event in honor of the 100th anniversary of the armistice with Germany that ended World War I.
On November 11 at 2 p.m. a special Armistice Day program will be held at the Putnam County Historical Museum in Kalida. Doors will open at 1 p.m.
The program will include music from World War I, a historical presentation, and poetry that honors World War I veterans.
The museum will also have an exhibit of World War I uniforms, pictures and other memorabilia on display.
The program is free and open to the public. The museum is handicap accessible. Refreshments will be served.
Special American flag lapel pins will be given to all veterans who attend the November 11 program as the Historical Society’s way of saying thank you to all our veterans who are such an important part of our history and freedom.
