ST. MARYS — Auglaize County deputies arrested an armed passenger with outstanding warrants after a routine traffic stop Friday morning.

Upon stopping a car on state Route 703 on Friday, the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office learned the passenger was armed and hiding in the vehicle. Deputies made contact with the Cory D. Gross, 27, who came out of hiding.

Gross had outstanding warrants for his arrest for three counts of possession of drugs, all fourth-degree felonies. He is being held at the Auglaize County Corrections Center without bond.

Assisting at the scene were the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, St. Marys Police Department, Celina Police Department., Grand Lake Task Force and the Wright State Lake Campus Police Department.

“Much cooperation among different Deputies and Officers made this arrest happen with no Citizens, Deputies, or Officers getting hurt. That’s a good thing when everyone can go home safe,” said Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon.
