ST. MARYS — Grand Lake Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning owner Matt Yaney uses his businesses to help others.
For nine years, Yaney has operated Elite Drain Cleaning and Water Damage Professionals, a residential and commercial plumbing and damage restoration company that covers the Lima area.
As a way to better service customers in his area, Yaney began Grand Lake Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning in February 2018.
His new company covers carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, tile and grout cleaning, 24 hour emergency water extraction, structural drying and heating, drain cleaning and video pipeline inspection and locating.
“With video pipe inspections, we can locate the exact break and the depth without tearing up the whole line and putting a new one in,” said Yaney.
Yaney has also recently bought new equipment, including a truck-mounted unit.
“This allows for faster dry time with a higher heat,” said Yaney. “This uses less water and it dries faster depending on the day and the humidity. Usually the carpet is dry within maybe five hours.”
Yaney said he wants to give back more. He will be donating 10 percent of each job completed at the end of the month to St. Marys schools.
“They have that big levy issue and if it doesn’t pass all these people are talking about moving,” said Yaney. “I have already started my family and that is where we are staying. I want my kids to have a good education.”
