KENTON — After a former metal siding and roofing supplier moved out of the Kenton area, Dustin McCollough and Sam Hostetler decided it was time to start their own business.
In July 2018, McCollough and Hostetler opened Stillwater Metal LLC on 12971 U.S. 68.
The company provides residential and commercial steel siding, roofing, trim and supplies in the Kenton area. Within the next few years the company is interested in expanding north.
“We don’t want to step on anyone’s toes, but at the same time there is a big, giant market out there and there is enough work for everyone in the area,” said McCollough during the Stillwater Metal LLC grand opening Friday.
The company sells wholesale products and retail products to the public.
“Basically any metal siding or roofing is better than shingles,” said McCollough. “It’s longer lasting and it makes an older house looks better and our paint will last longer, which has a 40-year warranty.”
Although there is another steel provider in the Kenton area, McCollough said his company has the best quality products with 10 years worth of experience, services with most convenient location.
“We offer delivery services as well and we will have online capabilities that hopefully within in the next year so people can get quotes online,” said McCollough. “Our machinery makes it possible to get orders in and out within the next day. Our main goal is to sell products that contractors want to use.”
Ultimately, McCollough said he hopes the company will offer the community better variety and more employment opportunities.
“Hopefully we will bring traffic in with people picking up metal from outside of the community,” said McCollough. “Hopefully in the next year we will need more than five people working here, including Sam and myself. Hopefully in the next year we will have more positions available because we will have more work to do.”
