New section of Bluffton Pathway opens

BLUFFTON — A ribbon cutting was held for the newest part of the Bluffton Lions Pedestrian Pathway project Tuesday at the Elm Street and Bentley Road intersection on the practice soccer field at Bluffton University.

The new Bentley Road pathway connects to the Augsburger path and runs south along the Bluffton University athletic complex and to the Riley Creek Bridge near Grove Street.

The bridge is scheduled for replacement in 2022 as part of the pathway project.

The Bentley Road path was originally estimated to cost $195,000 but came in under that estimate, with a total cost of $170,000.
