ELIDA — McBride Brothers Painting and Wall Covering Inc. sustained significant smoke damage during a two-alarm fire early Thursday morning.
The American Township Fire Department responded to a call at 6:06 a.m. Thursday about a fire at 4245 East Road.
“We found heavy smoke with a little bit of fire showing,” said Lt. Lee Rosengarten.
He said the department called a second alarm for the fire and were assisted by Shawnee Township, Lima and Delphos fire departments.
No one was injured. The property sustained between $20,000 to $25,000 in damages. Most of the damages were caused by smoke, Rosengarten said. According to the Allen County Auditor’s website, the property is owned by the McBride brothers, and the total value is listed as $190,900.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. He said the cause was most likely electrical, and it isn’t a suspicious fire.
