LIMA — An argument between a brother and his sister got out of hand Saturday afternoon when a knife and a gun became part of the equation.
According to Sgt. Jason Garlock of the Lima Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 1:50 p.m. Saturday to 509 Rosedale Ave. in reference to a dispute. When police arrived, they found Eugene Stiggers, 18, of 905 N. Jameson Ave., and Kayonna Stiggers, 19, of 218 S. Collett Street, had become embroiled in an argument.
According to police reports, the dispute began on the porch of Rosedale Avenue and escalated when Kayonna Stiggers secured a kitchen knife and used it to stab her brother in the upper back. Angered by the turn of events, Eugene Stiggers then obtained a gun and fired an undisclosed number of rounds through the front door of the Rosedale Avenue structure.
Police arrested both siblings. Kayonna Stiggers was arrested on a charge of felonious assault, and Eugene Stiggers was jailed on a charge of improperly discharging a weapon into a residence.
