ST. MARYS — Residents of St. Marys were urged to boil their water for at least a minute before using it for human consumption.
Jeffrey Thompson, the superintendent of water and sewer departments, said the city had a planned depressurization today.
The area affected includes Waesch Road, Allmans Subdivision, Otterbein Homes and Senior Living, Southmoor Shores, Rustic Haven, Harmons Landing and Breezewood Estates.
The boil advisory is expected to last somewhere between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday. The boil notice will be cancelled when laboratory test results are negative for bacteria.
Residents with questions should call the water department at 419-394-4114 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or the St. Marys Police Department at 419-394-2325 after hours.
