CELINA — Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey reports two men were extradited from Florida last week to face charges in that county.

On Sept. 25 two deputies flew to Jacksonville to pick up a male on charges out of the Mercer County Common Pleas Court. Noah C. Nolan, 20, had been charged with felonious assault, a felony of the second degree, and had failed to appear for his hearings. He was incarcerated at the Lake City Correctional Facility in Lake City, Florida. He was sentenced in that Court to more than three years in prison and had requested his case in Mercer County be started, Gray said.

Due to federal law, Nolan was required to be picked up and transported back to Mercer County for proceedings. He will be returned to Lake City Correctional after his case in Mercer County is complete.

On Monday, two deputies flew to the Daytona Beach Airport to pick up a male for a probation violation through the Mercer County Common Pleas Court.

Alex R. Dues, 27, had been convicted of attempted felonious assault, a felony of the third degree. A warrant was issued for Dues’ arrest on Aug.t 20 after he violated probation by being arrested for OVI in Florida. He was arrested by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office and after serving his sentence there, Mercer County authorities were notified that he was ready for pickup.
