FINDLAY — The second of the 2018 Flag City Honor Flights, the Findlay based hub of the National Honor Flight Network, will depart from The Cube parking lot at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2.
Seventy nine veterans and their guardians, including more than 20 World War II veterans, will fly to Washington D.C. to tour the war memorials.
Findlay Police officers, Hancock County Sheriff’s deputies and Legion Riders will escort the veterans to the Toledo Express Airport. Once there they will have breakfast at the Grand Aire Hangar and depart by charter jet at 8 a.m. The will arrive at Baltimore-Washington International Airport at 9:30 a.m.
While in Washington the veterans will visit the World War II, Korean and Vietnam war memorials and watch the changing of the guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.
The return flight will arrive back in Toledo at 9:45 p.m.
