Convoy Fire Dept. to receive federal grant

CONVOY — According to a news release, Convoy Fire and EMS has been awarded $139,980 for operations and safety through a grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency Assistance to Firefighter Grants Program.

“Ohio firefighters and first-responders work every day to protect our families,” U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-OH, stated in the release. “We must support our first-responders organizations so that communities like Convoy have the resources to shield families and homes from fire hazards.”

The program provides funds for upgrades to protective equipment, facility modifications, supplemental training and supplies to protect first responders in a crisis.
