LIMA — A rural Waynesfield man will be arraigned Friday in Allen County Common Pleas Court following his arrest last month on charges of attempted murder and kidnapping.

Dale Agnew, 46, was indicted Sept. 13 by an Allen County grand jury on the two first degree counts in addition to a fifth-degree felony charge of possession of criminal tools.

Agnew was initially present in Lima Municipal Court on Aug. 22 to answer to a charge of kidnapping, which alleged he did “by force, threat or deception” remove or restrain Lisa Agnew from a location with the intent to “terrorize or to inflict serious physical harm upon the victim …”

The recent session of the grand jury expanded upon those charges.

During his initial court appearance, Municipal Court Judge David Rodabaugh set Agnew’s bond at $1 million. He remains in custody at the Allen County jail.
