WAPAKONETA — Gary and Deborah Van Tilburg, of Wapakoneta, own this 1976 Ford F100 Ranger XLT.

They have owned the truck for approximately two years. Background information on the truck showed that it lived most of its life in Ashboro, N.C.

The 1976 Ford F100 is considered the sixth generation of the Ford F-Series. That year featured the “split-grille” design. In 1976, the F-Series became the best-selling truck in America and has kept that position ever since.

The Van Tilburg’s truck includes power steering, power brakes and air conditioning. According to them, they raised the “cool” factor with a set of wheels and tires that they found on a Ford Lightning from the late 1990s.

The Van Tilburg’s said their enjoyment comes from equal parts of tinkering and driving.
