LIMA — The Looney Tunes Roadrunner would be jealous of the suspect, or suspects, who broke into Beer Barrel on South Dixie Highway early Tuesday morning.
They stole an on-site ATM machine in the eight minutes between the alarm sounding and Shawnee Township Police Officers arriving on scene.
The Shawnee Township Police Department was notified of an alarm at 12:32 a.m. Tuesday at 1840 S. Dixie Highway after a suspect broke a drive thru window and entered the business. Officers arrived on the scene approximately at 12:40 a.m., but by that time, the suspect, or suspects, had already fled with the ATM machine.
Not only were the thieves fast, but they were also strong.
Lobby ATM machines weigh more than 1,000 pounds, according to testlinkusa.com, a business providing professional services for ATM service companies.
A representative from Good Food Restaurants, the corporation which owns Beer Barrel, said the company currently did not have any response concerning this incident.
The breaking and entering is currently under investigation. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
