LIMA — Honolulu, Hawaii, is a perfect place to own and drive a convertible, like this 1963 Austin Healey 3000. Just ask former Limaite, Jeff Hossellman. He drives his 1963 Austin Healey 3000 on a daily basis.
The Austin-Healey 3000 is a British sports car produced from 1959 to 1967.
Hossellman is a 1964 graduate of Shawnee High School, a 1968 Miami University graduate and a Vietnam veteran. His family came to Lima in the late 1800s, and automobiles were a family business.
His family was instrumental in the Siferd-Hossellman Company, where his uncle, Andy Burneson, took over running the business once Hossellman’s father, Vernon, retired.
Hossellman went off to law school after the Army and ended up in Denver. He took off sailing from Hawaii to the South Pacific, got married in Australia to a Cypriot beauty and raised two sons in Honolulu, where he practiced law for 30 years.
“Thus the weather for my daily driver,” Hossellman said.
