Land bank administration stays under Gilroy

LIMA — Allen County Commissioners approved a resolution Thursday that would allow the Allen County Auditor’s Office to house the Allen County Land Reutilization Corp., known as the land bank, currently administered by Auditor Rachael Gilroy.

Gilroy, the county’s former treasurer, recently took up the auditor position after Rhonda Eddy-Stienecker took another position in Indiana. During her tenure as treasurer, Gilroy directed land bank activities, and now, she’ll do the same as the county auditor.

The resolution approved by the commissioners solidified the transition thanks to the legal flexibility allowed by Ohio’s land bank statutes.
