WAPAKONETA — The case of a St. Marys man arrested last month on a charge of rape has been bound over to Auglaize County Common Pleas Court.
Auglaize County Prosecuting Attorney Ed Pierce said James Kanorr, 24, of St. Marys, was arrested July 28, the same day the alleged offense was reported to authorities. He made his first court appearance July 30 in Auglaize County Municipal Court, where his bond was set at $250,000. During another appearance in municipal court on Monday, Kanorr waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
Pierce said the case was bound over to Auglaize County Common Pleas Court for consideration of charges by an upcoming session of the grand jury.
According to information posted online, the alleged offense took place on Dec. 1, 2017. Pierce said only that the alleged victim is a juvenile.
