Spencerville woman injured in Monday evening 2-car crash

LIMA — A Spencerville woman suffered non-life threatening injuries in a two-car collision Monday evening at the intersection of Copus Road and Elm Street.

According to a spokesman for the Lima post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 6:13 p.m. when a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Emma Baraby, 17, of Lima, was traveling eastbound on Elm Street and attempted to turn left onto Copus Road. In doing so, Baraby pulled into the path of a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Heather Hamilton, 38, of Spencerville, which was traveling westbound on Elm Street. Hamilton was transported to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center by the American Township EMS for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Baraby was cited to failure to yield the right-of-way. She complained of injuries to her arm but declined medical treatment, the patrol spokesman said.
