LIMA — Harold Swygart enjoyed old cars and enjoyed showing his old car off at local car shows. Swygart died May 29 of this year. His children brought his 1966 Plymouth Satellite to the Lima Chevrolet Cadillac Charity Car Show.
“It was his baby. He just passed recently. He owned it for at least 25 years,” said Tony Sywgart, his son.
The Plymouth Satellite was introduced in 1965 as the top trim model of the Plymouth Belvedere. It was the top of the line model until 1967. The Satellite was discontinued in 1975.
The 1966 Plymouth Satellite was available only in a two-door hardtop or convertible. The interior vinyl seats and door panels had a “Western Scroll” design which mimicked tooled leather.
