LIMA — A Spencerville man was arrested Sunday after an alleged abduction.

According to a press release from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, Tyler L Paxson, 23, of Spencerville, allegedly abducted his girlfriend, Andrea Tschuor, for nearly six hours Sunday after she met him to discuss $200 she said he stole from her the day before. Tschour reported after she met with Paxson in a car lot in Delphos, he forced his way into her vehicle, removed the keys from the ignition and forced her into the passenger seat.

Tschour reported Paxson assaulted her multiple times and purchased and used drugs during the incident. The report states Tschour fled after Paxson forced her to contact a friend to give them gas money, subsequently meeting that friend at Casey’s General Store in Cridersville. Paxson fled the scene with Tschour’s vehicle before Cridersville police and EMS arrived on scene.

Tschour was transported to Lima Memorial Health System and was released after receiving treatment.

Sheriff’s deputies found Paxson Sunday night parked in the victim’s vehicle outside a residence on Richie Avenue. He refused to exit the vehicles and struggled when deputies used force to arrest him. Paxson complained of facial pain and was transported to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center for treatment.

Paxson was later arrested on charges of abduction, assault, resisting arrest, obstruction official business and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Paxson was out on bond on multiple drug charges in Logan County.

This was not Paxson’s first run in with the authorities. In May 2015, he was acquitted in a criminal trial during which he accused Lima police officers of brutality. In July 2015, he was back in Allen County Common Pleas Court on misdemeanor charges including resisting arrest, obstructing official business, operating a vehicle intoxicated and was awaiting possible felony charges of possession of crack cocaine and heroin.

Paxson was arrested again on charges of possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug abuse instruments in August 2015, over a month after his July 2015 arrest.
