Fire destroys Bath Township home

BATH TOWNSHIP —The Bath Township Fire Department is investigating a fire that occurred at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at 3591 Reservoir Road.

According to a news release, when crews arrived, they found the attached garage fully involved in flames and spreading to the house. It took firefighters around 40 minutes to get the fire under control.

The house suffered extensive heat, smoke, and water damage throughout. A 2003 Honda Pilot was also destroyed. The house next door, located at 3611 Reservoir Road, had heavy damage to its siding due to heat exposure.

The house is owned by Cheng Chien Cheng and Lin Hsiang. Mr. Hsiang was home at the time of the fire and was able to escape after being alerted to the fire by a passerby.

The home is insured. Estimated damage is $150,000 to the structure, $75,000 to the contents and $10,000 to the vehicle.

No occupants or fire department personnel were injured.

Perry Township Fire Department was called to the scene for mutual aid.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation. However, it is not considered suspicious.
