WAYNESFIELD — A Waynesfield man is facing charges after a slow-speed pursuit Thursday afternoon.
According to a news release from the Waynesfield Police Department, William H. Lawrence, 44, of Waynesfield, led police officers on a brief chase that ended at his residence on Buckland Holden Road.
At about 6:13 p.m., officers tried to stop Lawrence for driving under suspension and for having an expired registration. He was on East Wapakoneta Street in Waynesfield when an officer spotted him driving east. The officer attempted to stop him at state Route 67 and Moyer Road, just east of the village. He refused to stop and continued north past Fairmount Road at speeds of 45 to 50 mph. He then drove to his residence, where he was placed under arrest without incident.
He was charged with failing to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, two counts of driving under suspension, having a fictitious registration sticker and driving on an expired registration.
