Partnership for Violence Free Families receives grant to train Mental health First Aid instructors

LIMA — The Partnership for Violence Free Families recently received a $20,000 grant from HealthPath Foundation of Ohio to be used for training individuals in Allen, Auglaize and Hardin Counties in Mental Health First Aid.

The grant will help PVFF purchase the MHFA manuals required for training participants so more people can be trained to become nationally certified MHFA instructors. The class is eight hours and certified by the National Behavioral Health Council. It teaches non-mental health professionals how to recognize when an individuals is having a mental health crisis.
