Lima police officer injured in crash


LIMA — A Lima Police officer was hurt after his cruiser was struck by another vehicle at the intersection of North Main Street and North Street.

It happened at 12:37 p.m. Saturday.

According to reports, Beverly Scarberry, 68, of Lima was eastbound on North Street when she ran a red light and struck the cruiser of Ptl. Josh Snyder, 33, of Lima, who was northbound on North Main Street.

Snyder was taken to Lima Memorial Health System and was treated and released.

Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene.

Scarberry was cited for failure to stop for a red light.
