VAN WERT — A Mercer County man on Tuesday withdrew his previously-entered not guilty plea to a sex-related charge in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court.
James Neumeier, 27, of Celina, pleaded guilty to gross sexual imposition, a felony of the third degree. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered by Judge Martin Burchfield. Neumeier will be sentenced Aug. 8.
The Celina man was indicted on Jan. 4 and pleaded not guilty to the felony charge on Jan. 10. He was released on an own-recognizance bond and was ordered to maintain a distance of 1,000 feet from the victim in the case and the victim’s family.
