LIMA — Two area fire departments responded to a report of a leak of an unknown substance Saturday evening at the CSX rail yard near Robb Avenue.
At 7:46 p.m., the Lima Fire Department was notified of the leak coming from a rail car at the yard. Upon responding to the scene, it was discovered that the scene was in the jurisdiction of Bath Township Fire Department, which was called in at 7:58 p.m. Lima firefighters departed once their Bath counterparts arrived.
As of 9 p.m. Saturday, the substance was not identified, and representatives from the Allen County Emergency Management Agency were on scene with Bath firefighters. Scanner traffic indicated that the leak was small, resulting in a pool of the substance approximately one foot in diameter.
