Retired Lima attorney drowns in Lake Erie

MARBLEHEAD — A prominent retired Lima attorney died this week at his Marblehead, Ohio home.

According to an incident report from the Marblehead Police Department, just before 6 p.m. Wednesday, officers were called to dock 22 in Bay Point for a possible drowning. Barbara Fisher, the wife of James Fisher, 80, advised that her husband had come down to their boat at approximately 3 p.m. to clean out the bilge. Mrs. Fisher became concerned when he did not return home and went to the dock to check on him. She told officers that her husband had poor balance and that she was concerned that he had fallen overboard.

The Sandusky Fire Department dive team was dispatched and started searching for Fisher.

After 20 minutes of searching, they found his body underneath the boat.
