WAPAKONETA — A 22-year-old St. Marys man was arrested early Thursday and faces charges for allegedly stealing a vehicle from an Auglaize County residence.
Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon said deputies responded at approximately 2:40 a.m. Thursday to a residence on Aqueduct Road in response to a report of a suspicious person around the residence and outbuildings. The resident also said a 2008 silver Jeep had been stolen from the property.
Deputies responded to the scene, along with the St. Marys police and troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and the area was searched for the vehicle and suspect. Approximately 20 minutes after the call was placed, the vehicle was located by a deputy on U.S. 33 at Hardin Pike, just outside the Wapakoneta city limits.
A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and the driver, Nathan D. Graham, was taken into custody and is currently being held in the Auglaize County Jail on a charge of theft.
The matter remains under investigation for additional charges, Solomon said.
