Lima men arrested in FBI raid enter not guilty pleas


LIMA — Five Lima men who were taken into custody during pre-dawn drugs raids conducted June 14 as part of an FBI probe into the trafficking of cocaine in Allen County entered pleas of not guilty to an assortment of charges during their arraignment hearings this week.

Pleading to their respective charges were:

• Verlando Clark, 45, trafficking heroin, a second-degree felony; aggravated trafficking in drugs, a fourth-degree felony; and permitting drug abuse, a felony of the fifth degree.

• Michael Dewayne Johnson, 52, possession of cocaine, a first-degree felony with a Major Drug Offender specification that calls for the forfeiture of guns and money; and five counts of having weapons while under disability, fifth-degree felonies.

• Edward Moore Jr., 44, two counts of trafficking in cocaine, with Major Drug Offender specifications, first-degree felonies; and three counts of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.

• Willie James Reynolds Jr., 41, possession of cocaine, a first-degree felony; and possession of drugs, a felony of the fourth degree.

• Shay Williams, 29, two counts of trafficking in cocaine, first-degree felonies with Major Drug Offender specifications.

• Eric Watkins, 44, of Lima, charged with two counts of trafficking in cocaine, second-degree felonies; having a weapon under disability, a third-degree felony; possession of cocaine, a third-degree felony; and possession of cocaine with a Major Drug Offender specification, a felony of the first degree.

Additional indictments

Other individuals entering not guilty pleas during their arraignment hearings this week were:

Brandon Smith, 36, of Sidney, two counts of rape, first-degree felonies;

Jaquavious Daniel, 21, of Lima, charged with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony; and carrying a concealed weapon, a fourth-degree felony;

Terrez Carter, 45, of Lima, possession of cocaine, a first-degree felony with a firearm specification; and having a weapon while under disability, a third-degree felony;

Robert Roby, 23, of Lima, burglary, a second-degree felony; and grand theft when the property is a firearm, a third-degree felony.

Kencar McGee, 38, of Lima, discharging a firearm near prohibited premises, a third-degree felony with a firearm specification; the improper discharge of a firearm into a habitation or school safety zone, a second-degree felony with a firearm specification; and having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony;

John Robinson, 64, of Phoenix, Ariz., aggravated vehicular homicide, a second-degree felony; two counts of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, first-degree misdemeanors; and four counts of aggravated vehicular assault, third-degree felonies;

Jeremy Rollins, 41, of Van Wert, aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs, both second-degree felonies;

Justin Shears, 33, of Lima, aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony with a firearm specification; felonious assault, a second-degree felony with a firearm specification; and having weapons under disability, a third-degree felony;

Nino Sanchez, 46, of Lima, two counts of felonious assault, second-degree felonies;

Trenton Holloway, 27, of Lima, domestic violence, a fifth-degree felony;

David Simmons, 53, of Lima, carrying a concealed weapon, a fourth-degree felony; having weapons while under disability and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, each fourth-degree felonies;

Vonda Gilbert, 53, of Lima, felonious assault, a second-degree felony; and unauthorized use of a vehicle, a fifth-degree felony;

Treynton Betts, 20, of Lima, two counts of burglary, second-degree felonies; grand theft when the property is a firearm, a third-degree felony; and having weapons under disability, a third-degree felony;

Albert Jackson, 67, of Lima, two counts of felonious assault, second-degree felonies; and having weapons under disability, a third-degree felony;

Calvin Payne, 38, of Lima, burglary, a second-degree felony; and violating a protection order, a third-degree felony.

Shannon Jackson, 38, of Lima, one count of theft, a fifth-degree felony.

Keith McKenzie, 52, of Lima, three counts of breaking and entering, fifth-degree felonies;

Shaun Duckett, 27, of Lima, receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony;

Jermamie Patterson, 30, of Lima, violating a protective order, a fifth-degree felony;

Devante Neal, 23, of Lima, illegal conveyance of drugs onto the grounds of a government facility, a third-degree felony;

Jason Smith, 29, of Lima, six counts of breaking and entering and one count of theft, all fifth-degree felonies;

Autumn Cheeks, 37, of Lima, two counts of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and one count of driving under OVI suspension, all fourth-degree felonies;

Benny Crist, 30, of Lima, aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs, both second-degree felonies;

Julie Smith, 41, of Cridersville, aggravated possession of drugs and theft, each fifth-degree felonies; and tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony;

Douglas Gallaspie, 37, of Lima, three counts of theft and five counts of forgery, all fifth-degree felonies.
