Rep. Cupp co-sponsors hospital recognition bill

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Bob Cupp (R-Lima) announced this week the Ohio House of Representatives passed legislation, House Bill 464, giving the Ohio Department of Health the ability to give recognition to hospitals demonstrating high levels of care and readiness for stroke victims.

Under the bill hospitals will be ranked depending on their level of stroke readiness. Those hospitals with benchmark readiness would be recognized as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital, those with more complex framework would be recognized as a Primary Stroke Center and the most sophisticated level hospitals would be labeled Comprehensive Stroke Centers.
