LIMA — Craig Kupferberg has been hired to a three-year contract as the new superintendent of the Allen County Education Service Center.
Kupferberg was previously assistant superintendent at Findlay City Schools and also served as principal at Findlay High School. He is coming out of retirement to take the job, which pays $80,000 for 200 days work.
“We thought his strengths were his extensive experience in the public school system, his extensive community involvement, his servant leadership style and his passion for seeing children succeed,” said Ann Best, president of the ESC Board. The hiring took place at its Tuesday meeting.
Kupferberg begins his new duties on Aug. 1.
Kupferberg beat out three other finalists, which included Don Diglia, Tim Myers and Mindy Schulz.
