Harrod man rolls pickup while fleeing from alleged hit-skip

LIMA — A Harrod man rolled his pick-up on the southbound on ramp of Interstate 75 at State Route 81 Monday night after fleeing from a hit-skip accident he allegedly committed at Sugar Street and state Route 81, according to police.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Timothy Logan, 59, was fleeing onto I-75 when his 2002 Ford Explorer pickup slid off the on ramp and rolled. Logan received minor injuries in the accident and was transported by Bath Township EMS Lima Memorial Health System, where he was later released, according to highway patrol.

Alcohol was suspected to be a factor in both incidents, and Logan has been charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence, a first-degree misdemeanor.

According to the highway patrol, Logan’s vehicle sustained front end damage from the alleged hit-skip accident, the driver side and roof of the truck was damaged when it rolled and the passenger window was broken out.

The accident is still under investigation.

The hit-skip accident is being investigated by the Lima Police Department, which had no information available Tuesday night.
