Fire destroys home on Lima’s Franklin Street

LIMA — A two-alarm fire in Lima Wednesday morning caused considerable damage to a home on Lima’s southeast side.

According to Greg Kirkendall with the Lima Fire Department, they got the call at 4:59 a.m. of a fire at 1054 Franklin St.

When crews arrived, they found flames coming from two sides of the home.

The occupant of the home was able to get out safely and call 911.

There were no injuries.

Damage is listed at $45,000, which is a total loss.

The cause is under investigation but not believed to be suspicious.
