Kalida ranked #18, Shawnee #125 in Ohio

KALIDA — U.S. News and World Reports has come out with its list of the “Best High Schools in the Nation,’ and several area schools made the list.

Of the numerous Ohio schools ranked in 2018 among the U.S. News Best High Schools, 19 were awarded gold medals, 111 earned silver medals and 183 received bronze medals.

In this area, Kalida High School was ranked #18 in Ohio and 419th nationally. It has a 98% graduation rate, earning it a gold medal. Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement coursework and exams. The AP participation rate at Kalida High School is 78 percent.

Minster ranked #34 in Ohio and 952nd nationally.

The AP participation rate at Minster Junior/Senior High School is 53 percent. The AP participation rate at Minster Jr/Sr High School is 53 percent. It has a graduation rate of 98%, earning it a silver medal.

Van Wert High School ranked #74 in Ohio and 1,841st nationally. The AP participation rate at Van Wert High School is 61 percent. It has a 98% graduation rate, earning it a silver medal also.

Columbus Grove High School ranked #85 in Ohio and 2,026th nationally. The AP participation rate at Columbus Grove High School is 41 percent. It has a 98% graduation rate, earning it a silver medal, as well.

New Bremen High School ranked #86 in Ohio and 2,034th nationally. The AP participation rate at New Bremen High School is 42 percent. It has a 98% graduation rate, which is good enough for a silver medal.

Waynesfield High School ranked #90 in Ohio, 2,079th nationally. The AP participation rate at Waynesville High School is 35 percent. It has a 98% graduation rate, which earns it a silver medal.

Crestview High School ranked #93 in Ohio, 2,170th nationally. The AP® participation rate at Crestview High School is 52 percent. It has a 98% graduation rate, which equates to a silver medal.

St. Henry High School ranked #110 in Ohio, 2,367th nationally. The AP participation rate at St Henry High School is 33 percent. It has a 98% graduation rate, garnering it a silver medal.

Coldwater High School ranked #113 in Ohio, 2,438th nationally. The AP participation rate at Coldwater High School is 28 percent. It has a 98% graduation rate, which gets it a silver medal.

Marion Local Schools ranked #124 in Ohio, 2,620th nationally. The AP participation rate at Marion Local High School is 32 percent. It has a graduation rate of 98%, earning it a silver medal.

Shawnee High School ranked #125 in Ohio, 2,623rd nationally. The AP participation rate at Shawnee High School is 27 percent. It has a 98% graduation rate, garnering it a silver medal.

Lima Senior High School did not make the list.
