Putnam County Common Pleas Court
Christopher M. Shomsky, 34, 300 E. Main St., Belmore, pleaded guilty to two counts permitting drug abuse, misdemeanors. He faces up to 360 days jail and $2,000 in fines. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 8:30 a.m. June 22. He was originally charged with possession of a controlled substance (oxycodone) and trafficking in drugs.
William E. Berry, Jr., 46, 123 Lindford Lane, Kittanning, Pa., was sentenced to 120 days jail for possessing criminal tools and tampering with coin machine. He was placed on five years community control and given credit for three days served. He must obtain and maintain employment, complete all counseling and treatment required and have no contact with the victim. Two counts possession of criminal tools were dismissed.
According to reports of the Pandora Police Department, Berry and Jesse M. Toy, III, 39, 229 Clay Ave., Templeton, Pa., were arrested in the early morning hours of Sept. 10, after they were found attempting to cut a padlock off a Pepsi machine at Ted’s Market, 311 E. Washington St., Pandora. After obtaining a search warrant, police searched the rental vehicle they were driving and found two bolt cutters, three pry bars, and 127-barrel keys/coin machine keys, a camo cooler with an undisclosed amount of change and an undisclosed amount of one-dollar bills rolled up with a rubber band. The report stated the two men had personal bags packed with enough clothing for five days on the road.
A jury trial was vacated on Toy’s case last February, and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
Sualin A. Balcarcel, 20, 711 N. Belmore St., #30, Leipsic, was sentenced to 90 days jail for attempted aggravated assault. He was placed on five years community control and given credit for three days served. He must obtain and maintain employment, complete any counseling and treatment recommended and have no contract with the victim’s family. He must pay restitution of $3,880.28.
Haley S. McGue, 25, 18526 State Route 115, Columbus Grove, was sentenced to 11 days jail for violating the terms and conditions of her community control. The violations include operating a vehicle under the influence in February and using cocaine last March. She was given credit for two days served, must obtain and maintain employment and successfully complete any counseling and treatment recommended. She was originally convicted of possession of drugs (cocaine).
Citimortgage, Inc., O’Fallon, Mo., was granted a foreclosure judgment against Keith Kindle, Defiance, and Olga L. Kindle, Defiance, in the amount of $75,694.85, plus interest and costs.
John J. Evans, 44, 415 Whitehall Drive, Columbus, was found in arrears in child support in the amount $36,810.90 as of April 30. Current child support payments were ordered to be continued in the amount of $642.93 per month, plus $114.66 monthly in medical support and monthly arrange payments of $129.85. Sentencing was scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sept. 6.
Putnam County Municipal Court dispositions
Jack Fought, 60, 8457 Road N8, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of OVI. Sentence: Six points, 180 days jail, 177 days suspended, $750 fine, $375 suspended, one-year license suspension, with credit for three days jail upon completion of DIP. Charges of improper lane usage and open container were dismissed.
Kayla M. Reed, 23, 309 E. Main St., Apt. B, Van Wert, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of persistent disorderly conduct. Sentence: 30 days jail, suspended, $150 fine, no contact with victim for one year.
Cody J. Boman, 22, 25 Vine St., #9, Leipsic, pleaded no contest to non-compliance suspension and was found not guilty. He pleaded no contest to railroad crossing with lights and was found guilty. Sentence: $100 fine.
Brian D. Roberts, 46, 1635 Lowell Ave., Lima, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of persistent disorderly conduct. Sentence: 3 days jail, suspended, $150 fine, suspended, no contact with victim for one year.
Chrystian J. Reed, 25, 3374 Road 8, Apt. A, Leipsic, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of persistent disorderly conduct. Sentence: 30 days jail, 27 days suspended, $150 fine. A charge of obstructing official business was dismissed.
Quinlan R. McBreen, 19, 3101 Beaver Ave., Cincinnati, pleaded guilty to drug abuse/possession. Sentence: $150 fine and six-month license suspension. He was also fined $50 for speeding.
Amy M. Hart, 30, 501 N. Race St., Van Wert, pleaded no contest to hit skip/realty and was found guilty. Sentence: 180 days jail, suspended, $150 fine. She was also fined $150 for FRA non-compliance and $50 for failure to maintain control.
