COLUMBUS — Ohio Rep. Bob Cupp was recently chosen to serve as the new co-chair for Revive Civility Ohio, along with Yvette McGee Brown, the first black woman to be appointed to the Ohio Supreme Court.
Launched in 2017, Revive Civility Ohio is part of a national effort to decrease polarization and strengthen communities through civil discourse.
Cupp replaces Jim Petro, former Ohio attorney general.
“(Lack of civility) is an alarming trend, and it necessitates that we all take action to reduce the harshnesss and growing incivility. A return to focusing on facts first, rather than the swirl of speculation and opinion, will enable a more productive discussion across ideological differences to find workable solutions to difficult problems,” Cupp said.
