Road construction and maintenance projects


Ohio Department of Transportation Districts 1 and 7



Allen County

Interstate 75 between Bentley Road and state Route 103 will be restricted to one lane at times for a bridge repair project that began the week of April 23. Work will occur on I-75 over Riley Creek in Allen County and on the county Road 15 bridge over Interstate 75 in Hancock County. The project is expected to be completed in late September. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers Construction, Archbold.

The project will have the following anticipated impacts to traffic:

Interstate 75 will be restricted to one lane in each direction through the work zone from 7 a.m. Sunday, June 3, until noon Friday, June 8.

Variable speed limits are in place through the work zone. Electronic messages boards display the posted, legal speed limit, which will be reduced during construction operations and presence of workers in the area. The posted speed on the electronic boards is enforceable by law.

State Route 65 between Grand Avenue and state Route 115, Lima, is reduced to one lane through the work zone at various locations for work related to a roadway rehabilitation project. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.

The following impacts to traffic are occurring:

Traffic has been switched on state Route 65, generally between Northern Avenue and Jacobs Avenue, just north of Casa Lu Al Restaurant, to the southbound side of the roadway while widening work on the northbound side of the road takes place.

One lane of traffic in both the northbound and southbound direction is maintained. The turn lane is currently not available.

Traffic delays can be expected during the project.

Work will continue through the summer.

State Route 81 from Wapak Road to Eastown Road, Lima, is no longer restricted as curb ramp work is mostly complete. Resurfacing of the route will occur in the coming weeks. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.

Bridge cleaning over U.S. 30 in the following locations is anticipated to have minimal impact on U.S. 30 traffic. Flaggers will maintain traffic on the routes that travel over U.S. 30.

• State Route 115 over U.S. 30

• Sandy Point Road over U.S. 30

• Gomer Road over U.S. 30

Hancock County

Interstate 75 between Bentley Road and state Route 103 will be restricted to one lane at times for a bridge repair project that began the week of April 23. State Route 37 between the Findlay city limit and county Road 172 is restricted to one lane through the work zone for a repaving project that began May 7. Work is being performed by M&B Asphalt, Tiffin.

State Route 103 between county Road 9 and township Road 65, between the villages of Jenera and Arlington, will close May 23 for approximately 30 days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 68, U.S. 30 and state Route 235 back to state Route 103. Work is being performed by Miller Contracting Group, Ottoville. (see map)

State Route 103 between township Road 70 and township Road 177 in the village of Arlington is restricted to one lane through the work zone for a repaving project that began May 7. Work is being performed by M&B Asphalt, Tiffin.

U.S. 224 between township Road 276 and county Road 23 in West Independence will close May 21 for approximately 45 days for a bridge overlay project. The project also includes the replacement of approach slabs on the bridge, the addition of curtain walls and upgrades to guardrail. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 12 and U.S. 23 back onto U.S. 224. Work is being performed by Vernon Nagel, Inc., Napoleon. (see map)

Berm repair will restrict traffic to one lane along the following routes. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hancock County maintenance garage.

State Route 37 between state Route 15 to the Hardin County line

U.S. 68 from Findlay to the Hardin County line

State Route 103 between Bluffton and the Wyandot County line

State Route 698 between state Route 103 and county Road 24 in the village of Jenera is restricted to one lane through the work zone for a repaving project that resumed May 7. Work is being performed by M&B Asphalt, Tiffin.

State Route 330 over state Route 15, Vanlue, will close May 29 for approximately four months for a bridge deck replacement. Work is being performed by E.S. Wagner, Oregon. (see maps)

The project will have the following impacts to traffic:

Traffic on state Route 330 will be restricted to one lane at times during the week for preparations for the bridge deck replacement.

Lane restrictions on state Route 15 approaching the bridge are in place through the duration of the project.

On May 29, state Route 330 over state Route 15 will close for approximately four months.

State Route 330 northbound traffic will be detoured onto state Route 15 eastbound, U.S. 23/state Route 103, and state Route 15 westbound back onto state Route 330.

State Route 330 southbound traffic will be detoured onto state Route 15 westbound, state Route 37 and state Route 15 eastbound back to state Route 330.

Hardin County

State Route 53, just south of Patterson, closed April 2 for approximately 90 days for a bridge deck replacement. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 31, U.S. 68 and state Route 81 back onto state Route 53. Work is being performed by Eagle Bridge Company, Sidney. (see map)

State Route 235 just north of the Logan County line, south of the village of Roundhead, is now open following a culvert replacement.

State Route 235/state Route 309 overlap between county Road 45 and township Road 35, south of Ada, closed May 14 for approximately five days for a culvert replacement. The route is expected to reopen to traffic before the beginning of the week.

State Route 235 traffic is detoured onto state Route 309, Interstate 75 and state Route 81 back to state Route 235.

Putnam County

State Route 613 between township Road 15-C and state Route 108, west of Miller City, closed May 14 for approximately 10 days for the replacement of two culverts. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 108 and state Route 15 back to state Route 613. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage. (see map)

State Route 634 between state Route 613 and the village of Continental will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for resurfacing. Work began May 16 and is expected to continue through early June. Work is being performed by Gerken Paving, Inc., Napoleon.

State Route 189 between township Road R and township Road R-23, between Ottoville and Ft. Jennings, will close May 21 for five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 190, state Route 634 and U.S. 224 back to state Route 189. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage. (see map)

State Route 66 over U.S. 30, northwest of Delphos, will be affected by a bridge repair project. The project also includes resurfacing on state Route 66 between Delphos and Ottoville and on various routes within Delphos and Ottoville. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.

The project is anticipated to have the following impacts to traffic.

State Route 66 over U.S. 30 will close May 22 for 21 days for bridge repair. Southbound traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 30 westbound to Middle Point-Wetzel Road to U.S. 30 eastbound back to state Route 66. Northbound traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 30 eastbound to Fifth Street to U.S. 30 westbound back to state Route 66. (see maps)

State Route 66 between Delphos and Ottoville will be restricted to one lane through work zones for pavement repairs.

State Route 66 and state Route 189 will be restricted to one lane in various locations within the village of Ottoville for pavement repairs.

State Route 66, state Route 190 and state Route 697 within the city of Delphos will be restricted to one lane at various locations within the city of Delphos for pavement repairs and work on curb ramps and sidewalks.

Van Wert County

U.S. 30 between the Indiana state line and state Route 49 north will be restricted to one lane in both directions through the work zone for a rehabilitation project that will include resurfacing and concrete joint repair of U.S. 30. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.

U.S. 30 eastbound at the U.S. 224 overpass, west of Van Wert, is now open without restrictions following repairs to the bridge caused by an accident last fall.

State Route 66 over U.S. 30, northwest of Delphos, will be affected by a bridge repair project. The project also includes resurfacing on state Route 66 between Delphos and Ottoville and on various routes within Delphos and Ottoville. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.

The project is anticipated to have the following impacts to traffic.

State Route 66 over U.S. 30 will close May 22 for 21 days for bridge repair. Southbound traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 30 westbound to Middle Point-Wetzel Road to U.S. 30 eastbound back to state Route 66. Northbound traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 30 eastbound to Fifth Street to U.S. 30 westbound back to state Route 66. (see maps)

State Route 66 between Delphos and Ottoville will be restricted to one lane through work zones for pavement repairs.

State Route 66 and state Route 189 will be restricted to one lane in various locations within the village of Ottoville for pavement repairs.

State Route 66, state Route 190 and state Route 697 within the city of Delphos will be restricted to one lane at various locations within the city of Delphos for pavement repairs and work on curb ramps and sidewalks.

State Route 709 between county Road 103 and Goodwin Road, west of Venedocia, closed May 14 for approximately three weeks for the replacement of three culverts. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 116, state Route 81 and U.S. 127 back to state Route 709. Work is being performed by the ODOT Van Wert County maintenance garage. (see map)

Van Wert-Decatur Road between U.S. 224 and Shannon Street, just west of Van Wert, will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for pavement milling and resurfacing. Work began April 25 and will continue through late May. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.
