Van Wert man gets prison time for assault on police officer, other charges


VAN WERT — A Van Wert man charged with felony obstructing official business and harassment by bodily substance charges and a misdemeanor assault charge was sentenced Wednesday to 12 months in prison.

Van Wert County Common Pleas Court Judge Martin Burchfield sentenced Joshua Bunker, 23, to 12 months in prison on each of two fifth-degree felony counts of obstructing official business, 12 months on a fifth-degree felony charge of harassment by bodily substance and 180 days on a first-degree felony assault charge. The sentences will run concurrently.

Bunker was also sentenced to serve 774 days in prison that was remaining on his post-release control from a Marion County felonious assault charge Burchfield ordered that time to be served consecutively to the current 12-month prison term.
