Elida High School briefly evacuated due to foul odor

ELIDA — American Township Fire Department was dispatched to Elida High School to investigate a foul odor Monday afternoon. The odor prompted school officials to evacuate the high school.

At approximately 1:07 p.m. firefighters arrived and after conducting tests the results indicated that there were no hazardous chemicals or gases released inside the facility.

“There was no odor when we arrived and we did not find anything,” said Battalion Chief Joel Will.

After the tests were conducted, the fire department gave an all clear and students were sent back to class.
