LIMA — As a way to celebrate National Hospital and Nurses Week, Lima Memorial Health System hosted an awards ceremony at the Lima Memorial Auxiliary Conference Center to recognize seven associates and seven nurses for their exemplary work.
Lima Memorial Licensed Practical Nurse Julie Leary, Special Procedures Registered Nurse Rachel Jordan, Rehab Registered Nurse Janet Reid, SOPU Registered Nurse Patsy Spring, Licensed Practical Nurse Laura Music, Oncology Registered Nurse Shannon Kohls and Intensive Care Unit Nurse Amanda Dunlap were all recognized for going above and beyond to help their patients, helping out when needed, upholding high standards and putting the patients first.
ICU Therapist Karen McCoy, Lima Family Care Receptionist Jessica Kennedy, Emergency Room Secretary Elaine Bass, Pharmacy Tech Cindy Dugranrut, Occupational Therapist Assistant Laura Knippen, Material Management Secretary Tracy Risser and Facilities Management Coordinator Debora Schaffer were all recognized for going above and beyond, being punctual, putting the patient first, being knowledgeable about their work, having great attitudes and remaining friendly.
These individuals were nominated by staff and peers for their hard work and dedication.
“I would like to recognize them 52 weeks out of the year, but we can’t, so we make this a special week for them to be recognized,” said Mike Swick, President and CEO of Lima Memorial Health Systems. “Today’s event was really about peers nominating our top 14 people — seven nurses, seven non nurses, people who they believe are the cream of the crop. They are the ones the exemplify great qualities and that to me is amazing.”
Through Saturday, the hospital will also be hosting a meal for all associates, and volunteers and will be providing gifts. A Blessing of the Hands will also be conducted throughout the week to recognize the care and healing that they offer to patients and their families.
