Chief-branded stores now equipped with AEDs

FINDLAY — Fresh Encounter, which manages 58 grocery retail stores including those branded under the Chief name, will be placing automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) in each of its stores throughout Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.

AEDs are portable electronic devices that automatically diagnose potentially life-threatening irregular heart rhythms and administers electric shocks to restore a normal rhythm. AEDs located in each grocery store will be highly visible and ready for deployment should a sudden cardiac arrest occur in store facilities.

Fresh Encounter’s corporate office is located in Findlay.
