Road construction and maintenance projects

ALLEN COUNTY

Interstate 75 between Bentley Road and state Route 103 will be restricted to one lane at times for a bridge repair project which began the week of April 23. Work will occur on I-75 over Riley Creek in Allen County and on the county Road 15 bridge over Interstate 75 in Hancock County. The project is expected to be completed in late September. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers Construction, Archbold.

The project will have the following anticipated impacts to traffic:

Traffic has been shifted but two lanes of traffic on I-75 both northbound and southbound are currently maintained.

Variable speed limits are in place through the work zone. Electronic messages boards display the posted, legal speed limit, which will be reduced during construction operations and presence of workers in the area. The posted speed on the electronic boards is enforceable by law.

State Route 65 between Grand Avenue and state Route 115, Lima, is reduced to one lane through the work zone at various locations for work related to a roadway rehabilitation project. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.

The project currently entails the following impacts to traffic:

Installation of sidewalks and curb ramps along state Route 65 began April 16. Traffic will be restricted to one lane through the work zone.

Drainage work continues.

On May 7, a traffic switch will occur on state Route 65, generally between Northern Avenue and Jacobs Avenue, just north of Casa Lu Al Restaurant. The switch will allow crews to begin widening work on the northbound side of the road.

The switch will result in one lane of traffic both northbound and southbound and the temporary removal of the turn lane.

Traffic delays can be expected during the removal of existing pavement striping, placement of new striping.

State Route 81 from Wapak Road to Eastown Road, Lima, is no longer restricted as curb ramp work is mostly complete. Resurfacing of the route will occur in approximately one month. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.

Placement of berm stone will occur at the following locations with traffic maintained through the work zone. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage:

State Route 65 between Cairo and the Putnam County line.

State Route 117 from the Allen County fairgrounds and the Auglaize County line.

Cleaning of bridges over Interstate 75 will occur at the following locations with minimal impact to traffic anticipated. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage:

Napoleon Road

Slabtown Road

Bluelick Road

AUGLAIZE COUNTY

SR 501 between Infirmary Road and National Road, Daily lane closures April 30th – June 1st between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open in each direction through the use of flaggers.

I-75 between US 33 and Pusheta Road, Lane closure April 30th – May 4th between the hours of 9 am and 2:30 pm. One southbound lane will remain open.

US 33 between SR 65 and Center Street, Lane closure April 30th – May 23rd. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of temporary signal.

SR 116 between Hesse Road and Baker-Wright Road, Lane closure April 2nd – 30th. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of temporary signal.

US 33 between SR 29 and I-75, Daily lane closures March 26th – July 31st between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm. One lane will remain open in each direction.

Various State and US Routes including: US 33, SR 29, SR 65, US 66, SR 67, SR 116, SR 119, SR 197, SR 198, SR 219, SR 274, SR 364, SR 501, SR 720, Lane closures May 7th – June 15th between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm. This a moving operation so closures on each route will be brief. One lane will remain open.

HANCOCK COUNTY

State Route 37 between the Findlay city limit and county Road 172 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for a repaving project beginning May 7. Work is being performed by M&B Asphalt, Tiffin.

State Route 103 between county Road 9 and township Road 65, between the villages of Jenera and Arlington, will close May 23 for approximately 30 days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 68, U.S. 30 and state Route 235 back to state Route 103. Work is being performed by Miller Contracting Group, Ottoville. (see map)

State Route 103 between township Road 70 and township Road 177 in the village of Arlington will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for a repaving project that will resume May 7. Work is being performed by M&B Asphalt, Tiffin.

U.S. 224 between township Road 276 and county Road 23 in West Independence will close May 21 for approximately 45 days for a bridge overlay project. The project also includes the replacement of approach slabs on the bridge, the addition of curtain walls and upgrades to guardrail. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 12 and U.S. 23 back onto U.S. 224. Work is being performed by Vernon Nagel, Inc., Napoleon. (see map)

Berm repair will restrict traffic to one lane along the following routes. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hancock County maintenance garage.

State Route 37 between state Route 15 to the Hardin County line

U.S. 68 from Findlay to the Hardin County line

State Route 103 between Bluffton and the Wyandot County line

State Route 698 between state Route 103 and county Road 24 in the village of Jenera will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for a repaving project that will resume May 7. Work is being performed by M&B Asphalt, Tiffin.

State Route 330 over state Route 15, Vanlue, will close May 29 for approximately four months for a bridge deck replacement. Lane restrictions on state Route 15 approaching the bridge are expected to begin May 6 and will be in place through the duration of the project. Work is being performed by E.S. Wagner, Oregon.

HARDIN COUNTY

State Route 53, just south of Patterson, closed April 2 for approximately 90 days for a bridge deck replacement. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 31, U.S. 68 and state Route 81 back onto state Route 53. Work is being performed by Eagle Bridge Company, Sidney. (see map)

State Route 235 just north of the Logan County line, south of the village of Roundhead, will close May 7 for five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic detoured onto state Route 117, state Route 385, U.S. 33 and state Route 366 back to state Route 235. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hardin County maintenance garage. (see map)

PUTNAM COUNTY

Berm repair will restrict traffic to one lane along the following routes. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.

State Route 115 between Kalida and state Route 15

U.S. 224 between Kalida and Glandorf

State Route 613 between the Paulding County line and state Route 15 and between Leipsic and the Hancock County line

State Route 634 between state Route 190 and U.S. 224

State Route 694 between state Route 114 and state Route 115

State Route 613 between township Road 15-C and state Route 108, west of Miller City, will close May 14 for approximately 10 days for the replacement of two culverts. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 108 and state Route 15 back to state Route 613. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage. (see map)

SHELBY COUNTY

I-75 over the Great Miami River south of Sidney, Annual bridge inspections April 30th between the hours of 8 am - 4pm. Single lane closures will be in effect while crews evaluate the bridge. One lane will remain open during inspections.

SR 274 between Shroyer Road and Island Avenue, Lane closures April 9th – June 9th. One lane will remain open in each direction.

SR 66 between Basinburg Road and Mason Road, ROAD CLOSURE April 9th – May 11th. The official detour will be: SR 66 to SR 47 to I-75 to SR 29 to SR 705 to SR 66

SR 47 between Fifth Avenue and Wilkinson Avenue, Lane closures January 21st – November 27th. One lane will remain open in each direction.

SR 65 between Davis Street and College Street, Intermittent lane closures June 11th – October 1st. One lane will remain open in each direction using a Law Enforcement Officer.

VAN WERT COUNTY

U.S. 30 between the Indiana state line and state Route 49 north will be restricted to one lane in both directions through the work zone for a rehabilitation project that will include resurfacing and concrete joint repair of U.S. 30. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.

U.S. 30 eastbound at the U.S. 224 overpass, west of Van Wert, will be restricted to one lane for a project to complete bridge repairs following damage caused by an accident last fall. The lane restriction will begin Monday, May 7, and continue through late May. The work zone will be removed on weekends. Work is being performed by Armstrong Steel Erectors, Inc., Newark.

State Route 66 over U.S. 30, northwest of Delphos, was scheduled to close for a bridge repair project, but the project has been postponed.

State Route 81 between U.S. 127 and state Route 66 in Allen County will be reduced to one lane through the work zone at various locations for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Van Wert County maintenance garage.

State Route 709 will close in two locations between county Road 103 and Goodwin Road, west of Venedocia, for the replacement of three culverts. The following sections of the roadway will not close concurrently, but closures will begin May 14 and occur back-to-back, lasting approximately three weeks total. For both closures, traffic will be detoured onto state Route 116, state Route 81 and U.S. 127 back to state Route 709. Work is being performed by the ODOT Van Wert County maintenance garage. Between county Road 103 and Thomas Road

Between Jonestown Road and Goodwin Road

Van Wert-Decatur Road between U.S. 224 and Shannon Street, just west of Van Wert, will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for pavement milling and resurfacing. Work began April 25 and will continue through late May. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.
