LIMA — A Union Street home was destroyed by fire Wednesday evening and an investigation into the incident continues.
Lima firefighters were dispatched at 7:29 p.m. Wednesday to 1433 S. Union St. in response to a residential fire. According to a department spokesman, upon arrival firefighters found smoke and fire coming from the front and rear of the residence. Occupants of the structure had safely evacuated.
The home was deemed a total loss, with damage estimated at $30,000 to the structure and $20,000 to the contents.
The home is owned by Henry Horne. Alvita Chris was the tenant, according to the report.
