LIMA — A Lima firefighter suffered minor injuries while battling a residential fire late Sunday evening.
According to a spokesman for the Lima Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched at 11:15 p.m. to 758 S. Weadock Ave. in response to a house fire. Upon their arrival, firefighters found the south side of the structure and a detached garage at the rear of the residents to be ablaze. Firemen quickly extinguished the fires.
No one was home at the time of the incident. One firefighter suffered a minor shoulder injury while fighting the fire.
The structure is owned by M & M Rentals, according to the department spokesman. Damage was estimated at $16,000.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
