Road construction and maintenance projects

ALLEN COUNTY

Interstate 75 between Bentley Road and state Route 103 will be restricted to one lane at times for a bridge repair project which began the week of April 23. Work will occur on I-75 over Riley Creek in Allen County and on the county Road 15 bridge over Interstate 75 in Hancock County. The project is expected to be completed in late September. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers Construction, Archbold.

The project will have the following anticipated impacts to traffic:

Traffic on I-75 both northbound and southbound will be restricted to one lane in the area approaching Riley Creek to prepare the shoulder for a traffic shift which will occur within approximately two weeks.

County Road 15 over Interstate 75 will be closed in late summer for approximately 30 days.

Variable speed limits are now in place through the work zone. Electronic messages boards display the posted, legal speed limit, which will be reduced during construction operations and presence of workers in the area. The posted speed on the electronic boards is enforceable by law.

State Route 65 between Grand Avenue and state Route 115, and State Route 81 from Wapak Road to Eastown Road, Lima, is reduced to one lane through the work zone at various locations for work related to a roadway rehabilitation project. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.

The project currently entails the following impacts to traffic.

Installation of sidewalks and curb ramps along state Route 65 and state Route 81 began April 16. Traffic will be restricted to one lane through the work zone.

Drainage work on state Route 65 continues.

On May 7, a traffic switch will occur on state Route 65, generally between Northern Avenue and Jacobs Avenue, just north of Casa Lu Al Restaurant. The switch will allow crews to begin widening work on the northbound side of the road. It will result in one lane of traffic both northbound and southbound and the temporary removal of the turn lane.

Traffic delays can be expected during the removal of existing pavement striping, placement of new striping.

State Route 65 between the village of Cairo to the Putnam County line will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for berm repair. Flaggers will maintain traffic. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.

State Route 117 between Thayer Road and Cool Road, east of Lima, will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for repaving. Flaggers will maintain traffic. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.

State Route 696 between Beaverdam and the Putnam County line will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for berm repair. Flaggers will maintain traffic. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.

State Route 103 (Jefferson Street) between Vance Street and Huber Street, Bluffton, is now open following a railroad repair project.

AUGLAIZE COUNTY

I-75 south between Freyburg Road and Southland Road, Lane closure April 23rd between 9:30 am and 2:30 pm. One southbound lane will remain open.

SR 197 between Township Road 117A and Ridge Street, Lane closure April 2nd – May 3rd. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of temporary signal.

SR 116 between Hesse Road and Baker-Wright Road, Lane closure April 2nd – 30th. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of temporary signal.

US 33 between SR 29 and I-75, Daily lane closures March 26th – July 31st between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm. One lane will remain open in each direction.

US 33 between SR 65 and Center Street, Lane closure April 30th – May 23rd. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of temporary signal.

HANCOCK COUNTY

U.S. 224 between township Road 276 and county Road 23 in West Independence will close May 7 for approximately 45 days for a bridge overlay project. The project also includes the replacement of approach slabs on the bridge, the addition of curtain walls and upgrades to guardrail. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 12 and U.S. 23 back onto U.S. 224. Work is being performed by Vernon Nagel, Inc., Napoleon. (see map)

State Route 698 between state Route 103 and county Road 24 in the village of Jenera will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for a repaving project that will resume May 7. Work is being performed by M&B Asphalt, Tiffin.

State Route 103 between township Road 70 and township Road 177 in the village of Arlington will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for a repaving project that will resume May 7. Work is being performed by M&B Asphalt, Tiffin.

State Route 37 between the Findlay city limit and county Road 172 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for a repaving project beginning May 7. Work is being performed by M&B Asphalt, Tiffin.

HARDIN COUNTY

State Route 53, just south of Patterson, closed April 2 for approximately 90 days for a bridge deck replacement. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 31, U.S. 68 and state Route 81 back onto state Route 53. Work is being performed by Eagle Bridge Company, Sidney. (see map)

PUTNAM COUNTY

Berm repair will restrict traffic to one lane along the following routes. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.

State Route 115 between Kalida and state Route 15

U.S. 224 between Kalida and Glandorf

State Route 613 between the Paulding County line and state Route 15 and between Leipsic and the Hancock County line

State Route 634 between state Route 190 and U.S. 224

State Route 694 between state Route 114 and state Route 115

State Route 696 between the Allen County line and state Route 12

State Route 66 between county Road R and township Road R-23, south of Ottoville, is now open following a project to replace two culverts.

State Route 613 between township Road 15-C and state Route 108, west of Miller City, will close May 14 for approximately 10 days for the replacement of two culverts. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 108 and state Route 15 back to state Route 613. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage. (see map)

SHELBY COUNTY

SR 29 between Cisco Road and West Russell Road, Intermittent lane closures April 23rd -27th between the hours of 7:30 am and 4 pm. One lane will remain open for travel in both directions through the use of flaggers.

SR 274 between Shroyer Road and Island Avenue, Lane closures April 9th – June 9th. One lane will remain open in each direction.

SR 66 between Basinburg Road and Mason Road, ROAD CLOSURE April 9th – May 11th. The official detour will be: SR 66 to SR 47 to I-75 to SR 29 to SR 705 to SR 66

SR 47 between Fifth Avenue and Wilkinson Avenue, Lane closures January 21st – November 27th. One lane will remain open in each direction.

I-75 over the Great Miami River south of Sidney, Annual bridge inspections April 30th between the hours of 8 am - 4pm. Single lane closures will be in effect while crews evaluate the bridge. One lane will remain open during inspections.

Shelby – SR 65 between Davis Street and College Street, Intermittent lane closures June 11th – October 1st. One lane will remain open in each direction using a Law Enforcement Officer.

VAN WERT COUNTY

State Route 66 over U.S. 30 closure, northwest of Delphos, for bridge repair has been postponed.

State Route 81 from Willshire to state Route 66 in Allen County will be reduced to one lane through the work zone at various locations for pavement repair. Work is expected to occur over the next two weeks. Work is being performed by the ODOT Van Wert County maintenance garage.

U.S. 30 between the Indiana state line and state Route 49 north will be restricted to one lane in both directions through the work zone for a rehabilitation project that will include resurfacing and concrete joint repair. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.

U.S. 30 just west of Richey Road will be restricted to one lane in both directions through the work zones for bridge deck sealing. Work is expected to last for one week. Work is being performed by Global Outdoor Solutions, Cleveland.

State Route 697 just west of the city of Delphos is now open following a railroad repair project.

Van Wert-Decatur Road between U.S. 224 and Shannon Street, just west of Van Wert, will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for pavement milling and resurfacing. Work began April 25 and will continue for approximately two weeks. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.
