LIMA — A Lima man involved in a March 2017 shooting death outside a Shawnee Township apartment complex pleaded guilty to kidnapping Monday.

Dalton J. Duncan, 20, of Lima, pleaded guilty to kidnapping, a first-degree felony. He will spend at least a year in prison for a firearms specification and could spend another three to 11 years in prison for the kidnapping. Sentencing is 9:30 a.m. May 14.

In exchange, prosecutors dropped charges of involuntary manslaughter, trafficking in drugs and murder, all with firearms specifications.

Duncan is the third man to take a plea deal in the death of Damere Oliphant outside an apartment complex on Cam Court. In March, Collin Dysert received a 15-year sentence after taking a plea deal on charges of kidnapping and involuntary manslaughter. Gavin R. Lauck, the alleged shooter, will be sentenced April 16 on a murder charge.
