2-alarm fire in Lima sends 2 to hospital

LIMA — Lima Fire Department investigators are looking into the cause of a two-alarm fire which occurred Friday night at 402 S. McPheron Ave.

The call came in at 9:42 p.m. When crews arrived they found smoke and fire on the first floor, spreading to the second floor.

An occupant of the four-unit apartment house had to be rescued from the porch roof by firefighters. She was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

A Lima Police officer also suffered smoke inhalation. He was taken to the hospital by another officer.

The American Red Cross was brought in to assist families displaced by the fire.

Damage is listed at $55,000.
